New members of the family.

After a year of sporadic begging we were able to finally adopt two kittens!

We went to the Kitsap Humane Society during a free adoption sale. (saved about $300!) There were kittens everywhere. Most were adopted or weren't ready to be adopted yet.

We spotted these two lovelies in a cage together, and they were the only kittens that were playing and wrestling. We wanted playful kittens, and I loved how the tortoise kitten had a half black and half orange face. We just had to have them. Unfortunately they needed to get surgery (spayed) before we could take them home so we had to wait a whole weekend for them.

The tortoise shell's name was Moon Beam, and we decided to change it to Katniss (from The Hunger Games) The Siamese's name was Sally, and we changed it to Rue (also from The Hunger Games) Their new names fits their personalities. Rue likes to sing and be in high places, and Katniss is a crazy offender and very very playful.

I could go on and on, but in summary: they are so very cute and playful and "melty" I'm sure I'll post many pictures of them in the future. <3

Holidays coming to a close and a feature mention!

I hope everyone had and is having a great and interesting Holiday season!

The wonderful plant decked out in red Christmas lights is my fiance's alternative to a traditional Christmas tree. We have been snowed in for several days so we weren't able to go get a regular tree, but we all liked this Christmas plant quite a lot.

Now the snow is being washed away by the pouring rain, and we regrettably all have to start going back to work.

I'm already starting to think about my New Year's Resolution - it's never too early! There are a lot of new things I want to experiment with and possibly contribute to __1337 Art. I also want to get my workspace cleaned and organized once and for all! Any tips on that would be fantastic!

I have a lot of beads and supplies and piles of things that make it *slightly* hard and/or overwhelming to create new things. I'll definitely post my workspace organization progress if and when I can conquer it!

Blazer, my sleeping kitten, was napping from an exhausting morning of annoying our dog and my older cat, playing in boxes, and getting lost under chairs and wrapping paper. I like that he is sort of photogenic.

I wanted to say a special thank you to dzfantasy for the wonderful blog feature of __1337 Art that she published on her blog! You can view her blog here and my feature here. She offers a wonderful variety of fiber fantasy sculptures. You can follow the link below to view her colorful and fanciful Etsy Shop:

Next we have a set of lovely kitty coasters perfect for the entertainer! Whether you are throwing a small birthday get-together for your daughter, or if you are having some friends over for a drink, these kitties are a must-have!

The proceeds of these kitties go towards helping rescued horses. You can find these coasters for sale at

This beautiful card is perfect for all occasions. An invitation to a slumber party? A coffee date? A simple "hello?" A get well soon?

No matter what it is that you want to say, this card is a fitting match...who doesn't like kitties and books?
